The Apache web server is the industry standard open source web server for Unix and Windows systems. Most preconfigured Linux systems will have some of these packages installed already.

These must be installed and configured before you can run GBrowse. GBrowse runs on top of several software packages.

On Windows platforms, you will need to be logged in as a user with administrative privileges. Once these are installed, save the above link to your home directory as gbrowse_, and then run "perl gbrowse_".
